L'Axio Observer Z1M è un microscopio o-sparse (completamente automatico). ZEISS presenta un microscopio di materiali più avanzato di quello Observer A1M e Observer D1M, che può essere utilizzato tramite il display TFT, il suo microscopio intero semplice, ovviamente una struttura di menu organizzata.
